Here’s a compilation of the progress I’ve made so far in my remake of PLOK from the Super Nintendo. The remake is being made in Unity to help me learn new skills. Not intended for release.
A new PLOK Remake Devlog is among us. This time making a linux build to play on Steam Deck, adding new levels and moving platforms! Moving platforms were challenging, next time we will be looking at the first boss!
Hello, It’s been about 18 months since I’ve started a game project due to finishing University and starting a full time job. That’s why I decided a game jam was the best way to reignite my creativity and motivation. I chose the GMTK game jam as it was hosted by Mark Brown of Game Maker’s toolkit who has a brilliant Youtube series on game design. The theme of the game jam was ‘Genre without mechanic’. This means that the game needed to be based on a genre and take away a key gameplay mechanic such as shooting in a first person shooter or not having the ability to jump in a platformer.

It’s been a while, I’ve just finished my University course and I am awaiting results. In the meantime I’ve thought about additions and improvements to Run Tapper. For version 1.5.0 I intended to implement or question the additions of the following. If an item has (?) beside it then I am considering adding it as a feature and any comments as to whether it should be implemented are greatly appreciated.
Super Mario Maker is an excellent game and tool for creating and playing levels. It allows us to experiment with an existing and familiar toolset in different ways and as such I have decided to share my currently uploaded Mario Maker levels. The majority of these levels include unique level designs. I hope these levels will inspire your own level designs in Mario Maker. Some of these courses are early ones I made as I have since expanded the amount of levels I can have to 20 and these will gradually be replaced. Please take a look =)
