Hold The Throne was creating for the Weekly Game Jam 150 taking place on itch.io last week. The Theme was ‘You’re The Enemy’ I interpreted this as you being able to cause damage to the player, just as enemies can. I decided to go with the idea of your projectiles bouncing and wrapping screens. These projectiles could hit you in the back and damage you similar to an enemy. You can play this in the browser for free here.
I decided to take part in a Game Jam for the first time in a while. This was my first solo Game Jam, in which I roughly spent a couple of days on. The personal gains for this Game Jam were to motivate me to create a game for the first time in a while by forcing myself to stick to a theme and see it through to the end. Devil’s Diner is a memory game about ordering food.
Today I released a puzzle game called “Color Dome” for Android on the Google Play Store. The game is a high score style game and you must rotate the planet to find the correct colours.
Hey everyone! So a recent project I started with some friends was a movie, tv show and games review website called Online Media Review. It’s already starting to take off and I would really appreciate anyone that takes a few seconds to check out the site and what its offering. Feedback would be fantastic which can be given through the contact section on the website or by commenting on this article. Check out the site by clicking here.
It’s time for a small site upgrade moving forward. As of today you will notice the blog has changed in appearance and some functionality. I hope you enjoy these changes. I would like to post more often so make sure to be active within the community as it helps out a lot.
New features shown in the trailer, you can download the app from Google Play.
This is my first ever game to be publicly available so please do me a massive favour and give it a go, leave a review and share it with your friends. I plan to continuously update the game to add new features (last main update was online leaderboards and achievements). It’s completely free with no ads and to be able to effectively use it for my portfolio I’ve got to get that install number growing so it would help me out tremendously if you took a look!
Gameplay mechanics include:-
- Prebuilt Levels
- Randomly Generated Levels
- Level Code (share random levels online)
- Tons of obstacles
- Customise your character
- Times for beating a level
Puzzle Platformer – A boy and his blob – Nintendo Wii
This post was made using my game idea generator. I’m going to be doing “runs” with the idea generator to give you an idea of it’s usage. Today I’ll be using Platform Games as my genre.
My haunted house Mario Maker course.
As a student doing a computer games course I can’t help but wonder how the Games Industry is going to change over the years. When you think about what the first developers were like, you picture coders that went from creating games from scratch. In the present we have many different game engines to use, should we choose to do so. These programmers have such a vast knowledge and they came up with unique ideas and pushed a lot of genres forward. It’s becoming increasingly difficult though not impossible to come up with new genres and ideas.
