5 Days of Development – Project Conquer (0.1.9)

This site hasn’t been active in a long time, due to University work where I do Games Computing. Now that my first year exams are over I’ve taken to develop a game or games over the holiday. Here’s a look at Project Conquer.

Any comments on here or the YouTube video will be taken into heavy consideration due to its early development. A trello page for the game is currently private but will be made available soon. Maybe I should get one for the Site as well to increase my activity.

Enjoy,
Tom

The only Steam Screenshot of Bioshock Infinite I have, Hello Handyman!

So as you know its been the Steam Christmas Sale and also Christmas itself is almost here, and I’ve got a little bit carried away. I might not have been active lately and apart from coursework at school this is the reason. I’VE BOUGHT TOO MANY GAMES! Read on to find out what games I’ve bought and potentially may be reviewed.

Super Meat Boy (PC) Review

SuperMeatBoy

I knew before reviewing this that I was going to review this game highly, as the second game I ever purchased on Steam the first being Plants Vs Zombies. Super Meat Boy is an incredibly polished, difficult game that is incredibly rewarding. I’m going to make a bold statement here as a bit of a Mario fanboy and say that the controls feel as slick if not slicker than a Mario game due to the split second reactions needed and the sense of control when in mid-air. Read on for more information..

Dungeon Defenders (PC) Review

Image

Dungeon Defenders is a Tower Defence style game which sees you protecting the Eternia Crystal.

Dungeon Defenders is a game I played last year over the Christmas holidays with my brother. I put tons of hours into the game (54 hours according to Steam), it’s quite addictive however after playing multiplayer so much Singleplayer doesn’t interest me. If you have friends or love action and tower defence games read on.

A Game I bought recently – Don’t Starve

ds_darkness_1920x1200

Don’t step into the darkness, oh and don’t starve either!

Another great game which a Youtube channel basically got me to buy, which is why I get annoyed at companies such as Nintendo which started taking away the money people make off Let’s Plays because for some games it really helps market them, for example Don’t Starve for me. On with the Review…

A Game I bought recently – PAYDAY 2

payday-2-02

The birthday parties just weren’t earning them enough money.

Payday 2 is an interesting game, its based around heists and looking familiar to the film Point Break though I’m not sure if it’s supposed to do so. The game has you playing as either Hoxton, Dallas, Wolf or Chains. The main progression through the game is done through unlocking new weapons, armour, masks and progressing through the four different skill trees to help you take down enemies or increase your stealth…

A Game I bought recently – The Basement Collection

basement

The Basement Collection (PC) A collection of Edmund Mcmillen’s not so stellar games, at an affordable price.(£2.99)

Edmund Mcmillen the creator of two of my favourite games Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac. Previously having seen Indie Game: The Movie it made me want to look more into the early projects Edmund Mcmillen created. The Basement Collection features several games, unseen footage from Indie Game: The Movie, commentary’s about the different games, and little unlockables to get for the games ie for the game Spewer there is a particle test engine that you can mess with that Edmund Mcmillen himself used to help develop the game. A Game I bought recently – Dead Pixel

Dead Pixel (Xbox,PC) Way better than I thought it would be!

Dead Pixel is the most recent game I’ve picked up which was incredibly cheap, even when it’s not £0.68 like when I picked it up today then its usually going for around £2. Honestly I probably would have ignored this game had I not seen it on offer, and had money left over in my Steam wallet.
