I’ve recently started doing dev challenges with another content creator on instagram. These challenge are game development challenges. I don’t currently have an active project so for the last two challenges I’ve been posting dev logs on my instagram and created a new level for ‘Hold The Throne’ an old game jam project of mine. There is now a bonus stage complete with 2 new enemies, 1 new boss, new background sprites, new music and there is also a new main menu. Here’s the trailer for the update and you can play it for free here. https://tompouchergames.itch.io/hold-the-throne

Run Tapper – Next Update Plans
Hello all!
It’s been a while, I’ve just finished my University course and I am awaiting results. In the meantime I’ve thought about additions and improvements to Run Tapper. For version 1.5.0 I intended to implement or question the additions of the following. If an item has (?) beside it then I am considering adding it as a feature and any comments as to whether it should be implemented are greatly appreciated.
- Menu Music (?) – Annoying after long periods ie Level editor?
- In Game Music (?) – Not sure if this would become jarring if music was added to level generation as the game is fast paced. Perhaps dependant on movement speed.
- Revised Audio for surfaces
- Performance enhancements – raise from locked 30fps to locked 60fps

My Birthday (28/04)
Hey everyone so yesterday I celebrated my birthday.
Due to having a presentation on the 29th I’ve mainly scheduled my birthday to another day for family but what I was able to do with having a presentation the next day is this.
I went out for a meal which turned pretty crazy and I thought you might like to hear it. Me and 2 of my friends decided to go for a food challenge in which you have to finish everything in order to win yourself a certificate and be put on the hall of fame.

Game Design: My Idea Generator
So I came up with a system last year which I used for a period of time over summer. It allows you to come up with self created ideas which should be triggered by asking you simple questions. I managed to come up with a few ideas I might share one day using this system I made.
Run through the questions below using an existing genre to get some ideas. Continue reading “Game Design: My Idea Generator”
Revisit: “WHAT SHOULD NINTENDO DO?”
A while ago (18th September 2013) I wrote an article called “What Should Nintendo Do?”. In the article I went over a few ideas that I thought personally thought could help improve and shape the company. I’ve decided to review what I said and see which Nintendo achieved.
