In Depth Look at Project Conquer Alpha 0.2.4

The short clip show in the Alpha 0.2.4 video didn’t fully show off the additions that were added between versions so I decided to do a longer video detailing these features along with the UI system which is hard to describe in a normal trailer. Therefore I decided to do my first voiceover video! I hope you enjoy :).

Thanks for watching,

DualShooter Gameplay (my student project from 2014)

DualShooter was a pc game (later ported to mobile for personal use) that I made in November of last year. I never uploaded any footage because I was unsure about whether it could be uploaded. Since its been marked I feel like I can show you footage of the game. It was in development around 2/3 months.

5 Days of Development – Project Conquer (0.1.9)

This site hasn’t been active in a long time, due to University work where I do Games Computing. Now that my first year exams are over I’ve taken to develop a game or games over the holiday. Here’s a look at Project Conquer.

Any comments on here or the YouTube video will be taken into heavy consideration due to its early development. A trello page for the game is currently private but will be made available soon. Maybe I should get one for the Site as well to increase my activity.

Enjoy,
Tom

Cloudberry Kingdom Review (WiiU)

So yes, this Christmas I was lucky enough to unbox a Nintendo WiiU. It’s been incredibly difficult to spend enough time with some games in order to give them a review score hence the lack of posts. Anyway Cloudberry Kingdom is a platformer which purposefully has a high difficulty ramp. At first glance the first few levels might seem easy and just look like a generic grab the coins and get to the exit type of game. Read on to find out why that’s not true.

There is a lot to review! :)

The only Steam Screenshot of Bioshock Infinite I have, Hello Handyman!

So as you know its been the Steam Christmas Sale and also Christmas itself is almost here, and I’ve got a little bit carried away. I might not have been active lately and apart from coursework at school this is the reason. I’VE BOUGHT TOO MANY GAMES! Read on to find out what games I’ve bought and potentially may be reviewed.

Kid Icarus: Uprising (3DS) Review

Image

Kid Icarus finally got a revival, it’s move to 3D was drastically different and a lot of fun.

I never really got into the original Kid Icarus partly because I was awful at it, either way until Super Smash Bros Brawl I never would have imagined how much of an important IP the game was. Pit was one of my favorite characters to play as in Super Smash Bros Brawl. I was originally quite skeptical because I had never really ventured into the genre of on the rails shooters apart from Lylat Wars on the N64(which I loved), and also the line Pit said in the trailer “Sorry to keep you waiting!” IT’S BEEN 25 YEARS PIT! Anyway on with the review.

Super Meat Boy (PC) Review

SuperMeatBoy

I knew before reviewing this that I was going to review this game highly, as the second game I ever purchased on Steam the first being Plants Vs Zombies. Super Meat Boy is an incredibly polished, difficult game that is incredibly rewarding. I’m going to make a bold statement here as a bit of a Mario fanboy and say that the controls feel as slick if not slicker than a Mario game due to the split second reactions needed and the sense of control when in mid-air. Read on for more information..

Dungeon Defenders (PC) Review

Image

Dungeon Defenders is a Tower Defence style game which sees you protecting the Eternia Crystal.

Dungeon Defenders is a game I played last year over the Christmas holidays with my brother. I put tons of hours into the game (54 hours according to Steam), it’s quite addictive however after playing multiplayer so much Singleplayer doesn’t interest me. If you have friends or love action and tower defence games read on.

Project/ Games Portfolio Update #1

Image

A map I am creating In Source SDK, hoping to eventually show graphical fidelity in my design when finished.

I’m planning on taking a course in game design if I manage to achieve the grades necessary and sort out the incredibly boring UCAS stuff. Anyway one of the Universities I looked at asked for a Games porfolio, and so I’m planning on doing a couple of games In Gamemaker, possibly learning some flash and making games or mods, making some nice looking SDK maps, creating some chip tunes, possibly some maps for Left 4 Dead 2 and doing some concept art.
